To review, update & explain:
Wiley Walk, my community e-mail newsletter, is launching today for 2025. That means if you have attended a Wiley event so far this year you may remember these recent activities. Everyone’s “Remember Mileage” probably varies, though. If you didn’t attend any of the events featured here, well then it’s all new and it’s what you missed : > ) If you did attend and now have no recollection of doing so, well here it is all over again! Great community activities like these will increase as we get out of the Winter season. Sign up for activities at the Fellowship House and the program stuff noted in Echoes the next time choices are offered.

What’s more fun than to watch an old, broken down, condemned building on Main Street do a disappearing act? I’vebeen sharin g photos here from the situation at the Marlton Tavern for about five years. Finally Dean Demolition showed up and in a matter of two days made the building disappear. Magic. On the third day of the disappearing act, TV’s AccuGuess weather hysteria had the “end of times” snow storm threatening. They had the snow part right. The half inch accumulation was just a bit off, but it did nicely cover the property excavated land that once was a mess.

The 2025 Wiley Community Garden leaders assembled folks in the Fellowship House to discuss the upcoming garden season, to go over plot options and generally to hear that Joe is the new guy overseeing the project. He emphasized he was not making rules. Instead, he was going to be making suggestions : > )

Nine folks assembled to talk it all out with Paul & Joe. Ten counting me. My gardening experience is to point the camera at what goes on in the garden now and then. Richard and Russ & Bev took over one sofa. Jerry, Kathleen & Jodi settled in over by the pool table. Over on cushy seats sat Merrie & Joanne.

So after any meeting of the garden minds required me to wander over the actual site. A low down seasonal sun greeted me. Had to do some photo magic to make it work. The garden shed has suffered some level of nothing good lasts forever wear-out-id-ness. I heard chatter at the meeting about replacing it. Another view of the garden from Arbutus called to me, as did a large, empty artsy trash can scene inside the fence.

But the next snow was not denied when Accu-Guess predicted more. Plow tire tracks, a young deer passing the snow outside my dining room window and a set of “deerasoris” tracks on the back patio meant I did not have to go too far out of the house to do weather photos.

On Saturday, January 18th, The Jersey Sound Chorus performed in the church sanctuary. A cappella, which when described to me meant voices only. No instruments. This chorus was very good. Their program was, too. A nice crowd of residents assembled. The first photo is the chorus filing in behind the audience.

Bev & Russ were seated in nice light, so there they are . . . looking nicely lit (not always the case inside).
I think Nancy was singing along with them. I needed a vertical photo to make this layout, so there it is.

The program narrator and a singer, too, is Nancy.

Time flies. Here we are on January 23rd. Dr. Greg presented his program . . . The Constitution and You in the sanctuary. He really knows his stuff. Everyone gets his handout about the U S Constitution. He doesn’t speak using old and dated stuff. Instead his illustration slides are on point and very professional.

There’s that Wiley bus again. The last Monday of each month is the Wiley Coffee Hour. Today we went to STACKS on Route 38. It’s not in Moorestown but close. It’s right across from what used to be the Moorestown Mall, which may or may not be in Moorestown. Wiley bus driver Bob Schules not only manages the breakfast riders but he’s good with wrangling walkers and wheel chairs, too.

That’s camera shy Carol, aka The Queen, hiding behind her menu at Stacks. We get to the coffee hour events first because so we can get coffee first. We were joined by activities assistant Susan. I figured if she wore her Eagles hoodie it was reason enough to do her photo : > )

Betty did not hide behind her menu. In closing here is the just arrived to my phone the baby photo to end this month’s edition.

Great way to start a day!
Cheers.
