When Mrs. D was admitted to our program, she was six months into her recovery from a cerebral aneurysm and shunt placement. At home, she relied fully on a Hoyer lift for every transfer and required total assistance for mobility. Despite these challenges, Mrs. D never gave up hope.
Through her hard work, perseverance, and the encouragement of her care team and family, she has made incredible progress. Today, Mrs. D is transferring with only minimal assistance and can proudly stand on her own for several minutes at a time. She has even taken a few steps with a rolling walker with assistance from the therapists, something she hasn’t done since last fall.
These milestones are not just physical achievements—they represent her determination, courage, and unwavering spirit.
Mrs. D is now returning home with her husband by her side and continued home health therapy to support her next steps. Her journey reminds us all that with resilience, dedication, and support, remarkable recovery is possible.

“I wouldn’t be the way I am today if it wasn’t for the Wiley staff of caring people and physical therapy which encourages me to walk again. I wouldn’t be the way I am without them.”- Mrs. D
